It is beyond controversy that intercultural competence, especially within the area of tourism, is a requirement for professionals in the field. In order to develop this competence and to enhance internationalisation at home, the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland conducted three summer schools on tourism from 2010 to 2012 on the basis of CEEPUS grants. The summer schools brought together Austrian and international specialists working on a tourism topic in multicultural groups for the duration of ten days. The topic of the summer schools concentrated on regional development in tourism highlighting F&B products. The book examines the Summer School 2012 with the title “Power of Origin - Instruments of Sales Promotion with a Focus on Regional F&B-Products in Tourism” and provides lecturers’ articles as well as the best workshop results of selected students.
